The Guangdong Garden of the World Horticultural Exhibition \”takes the lead\” with a Cantonese opera tune passing through the wall

Beijing News Express (Reporter Jiang Huizi) The Chinese Horticulture Exhibition Area is separated from the International Pavilion. As soon as you step into the exhibition area, before you have time to take a closer look, a Cantonese opera tune passes through the wall and floats into your ears. After searching for the sound, the full picture of Guangdong Garden, which had \”taken the lead\” was finally revealed.

The main entrance of Guangdong Garden is designed in the traditional Lingnan architectural form. A plaque reads \”Southern Guangdong Garden\”. A small square is set up at the entrance. The ground in the center of the square is paved with bat-pattern floor carvings. It means \”opening the door to receive blessings\”, and the gray plastic decoration on the roof ridge is also a local craft of Guangdong. The gate is unique and consists of three doors. It is understood that this is an ancient \”security door\” in the old town of Xiguan, Guangzhou. The second door, called Fangluo Door, is shaped like a large wooden frame with logs placed horizontally in the middle. The so-called \”Wang Lai\” is a movable fence that opens and closes horizontally. It has the functions of privacy, security, ventilation and lighting, showing the characteristic and traditional life style of the old town of Xiguan, Guangzhou.

After crossing the gate, the interior of Nanyue Garden restores the style of Lingnan gardens, one of the three major schools of traditional Chinese gardens. The main building, Silk Fragrance Pavilion, is made of traditional architectural elements from the Lingnan region such as wok-ear gables, gray plastic roof ridges, and colored glass windows. It is supplemented by Chaozhou golden lacquer wood carving screens and pyrography fans made by Xinhui Kuiyi. It is decorated with Cantonese opera minor tunes. The sounds of birdsong alternately hit my ears, as if I was in Lingnan.

The front yard and back yard, and the connection between inside and outside are the distinctive features of Lingnan gardens. When you come out of Silk Fragrance Pavilion, the scenery in front of you suddenly opens up. Across a pool of clear water, you can see rocks scattered in the distance, and water flowing down the mountain. The cool breeze swept away the fatigue of the afternoon garden tour and made you feel refreshed.

According to reports, this water area that occupies nearly half of the entire South Guangdong Garden is quite scientific and technological. It is an artificially constructed clean water ecosystem that is close to nature and is beneficial to beneficial microorganisms and beneficial microorganisms. With a reasonable ratio of algae, beneficial zooplankton, submerged plants and aquatic animals, its self-purification ability is even higher than that of natural clean water systems.

Guangzhou is known as the \”Flower City\”, with flowers blooming all year round. In order to highlight the characteristics of Lingnan flowers and trees, the plant design of the park is divided into four themed areas, namely \”Spring Flowers and Autumn Fruits\” and \”Fragrant Flowers\”. \”Yuan Yi Qing\”, \”Colorful Falling Flowers\” and \”Flowers in the South\”, the ground flowers at the main entrance, the Strelitzia reginae, beautiful needle anthems, and red flowers around the waterfront, and the boat full of flowers docked in the middle of the water body all reveal the unique Lingnan charm. .
