Hello everyone!
I am Lao Hong.
Today, I want to share with you a short story about my personal growth – my first attempt to install software on a Linux server.
This is not only a technical exploration, but also a psychological and self-confidence building journey.
I have been working for many years and have never installed software on a Linux server.
I received a task today: I need to install a software on the Linux server.
This is nothing less than an unknown adventure for me.
After all, the world of Linux is so unfamiliar to me. The command line, permission management, and package management tools are all areas that I have never touched before.
At that moment, my heart was full of anxiety and uneasiness, for fear that I might accidentally trigger some \”organ\” and cause the entire system to collapse.
But, as the old saying goes, \”Everything gets tough at the beginning.\”
I knew that if I wanted to take a step forward in my career, I had to be brave enough to take that step.
So, I started to make preparations.
First of all, I used my spare time to supplement the basic knowledge of Linux.
From the most basic file operations and directory structures, to commonly used command line instructions, to user rights management, I absorbed this new knowledge bit by bit.
Next, is the actual combat exercise. I found a test server and installed a Linux distribution for simulation operations.
During this process, I encountered many difficulties, such as not being able to remember commands, operating errors causing system errors, etc.
But every time I encounter a problem, I regard it as an opportunity to learn. By consulting information and asking colleagues for advice, I solve the problem step by step and accumulate experience.
Finally, jdk, redis, mysql, nginx and other software were successfully installed on the server.
My heart is beating fast and my palms are slightly sweaty, but my heart is extremely determined. I take a deep breathTake one breath and follow the steps prepared in advance, step by step.
Every step from logging in to the server, checking the system environment, downloading software packages, configuring dependencies, and executing installation commands I\’m very careful, for fear of missing something or making a mistake.
Fortunately, after a series of efforts, the software was finally successfully installed and running. At that moment, the joy in my heart was beyond words, as if I had completed an impossible task.
This experience not only taught me how to install software on a Linux server, but more importantly, it taught me the courage to face unknowns and challenges. and persistence.
I began to realize that technical barriers are not terrible. As long as we are willing to learn and try, nothing is impossible.
Moreover, in this process, I also gained the ability to solve problems and self-confidence, which are priceless assets.
After this experience, I gradually became more proficient in performing various operations in the Linux environment, and even began to enjoy the sense of accomplishment of quickly solving problems through the command line.
This experience taught me that no matter what new things I face, I must maintain curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, and take the first step bravely.
Because every \”first time\” is a valuable opportunity for growth and progress.
Come on 2025!
Keep moving bricks!
Thank you for reading to the end.
