After receiving the report, police officer Wang Yaoyu and auxiliary police officer Gao Zhenwei rushed to the scene quickly.
According to the direction of the black smoke, the police found the house where the incident occurred. The security door of the house was locked, and an old man in a wheelchair was unable to escape. After questioning, the police found that the old man may have Alzheimer\’s disease and forgot where he put the door keys. Seeing that thick smoke continued to pour out from the room, in order to prevent the elderly from inhaling too much smoke and affecting their health, the police made a prompt decision, picked up the fire extinguisher, and smashed the fence of the security door with the bottom. Afterwards, Gao Zhenwei quickly climbed up the security door, pushed himself hard, and rolled into the house with his hands and feet. He took the fire extinguisher handed over by Wang Yaoyu and quickly ran to the location where the thick smoke was emitting.
After the smoke dissipated, Gao Zhenwei opened the indoor windows for ventilation and checked the indoor situation again. At this time, the old man\’s daughter also rushed to the scene, opened the door and successfully rescued the old man.
Later, firefighters arrived at the scene for inspection and found thatthe black smoke emitted was caused by the old man burning a stove indoors to keep warm.
It turned out that the old man lit a fire to keep warm at home alone that day, but accidentally set the gauze curtain at the door on fire. Due to his limited mobility, the old man failed to take fire extinguishing measures in time, causing thick black smoke to fill the corridor. It was not until residents discovered that he called the police for help. Fortunately, the police arrived in time and the accident did not cause a major fire, nor did it cause any casualties or property losses.
