Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, January 19th: The reporter learned from China Railway Construction Corporation on the 19th that the construction of the main pier pile foundation of the Fuchimen road-rail dual-use bridge on the Yongzhou-Ningbo Railway, constructed by the China Railway Construction Bridge Bureau, was completed. This marks that the bridge has fully entered the water construction stage.
According to the person in charge of the project of the China Railway Construction Bridge Bureau, the Fuchimen road-rail bridge is located in Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, connecting Zhoushan Island and Fuchi Island. The total length of the bridge is approximately 1,726 meters, with a main span of 388 meters. It adopts the form of a double-track railway and a six-lane highway arranged on the same floor. The bridge site is covered by large rocks on the seabed, and the water conditions are complex.
The Ningbo-Zhou Railway is about 77 kilometers long and is the world’s largest cross-sea and island-connecting project. After the railway is completed, it will end the history of no railway in Zhoushan.
